What is Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfer printing? DTF printing applies full-color ink directly onto a special film, which is then heat-pressed onto your garment or product. The result is a vibrant, detailed, and durable print that works on virtually any fabric — no weeding, no cutting, no color limitations.
What fabrics and materials does DTF work on? DTF transfers adhere to cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, denim, canvas, and more. The only fabrics that don't work well are waterproof or silicone-coated materials. If you're unsure about a specific material, give us a call.
What's a gang sheet? A gang sheet lets you place multiple designs on a single sheet to maximize your print area and get the best value. You can mix different designs, sizes, and quantities all on one sheet. Use our online gang sheet builder to lay out your designs, or upload a pre-made file.
What file formats do you accept? PNG with a transparent background is preferred (300 DPI minimum). We also accept PDF, AI, and PSD files. For best results, make sure your artwork is high resolution — low-res files may result in blurry prints.
Do you offer design services? Yes! If you need help cleaning up artwork or creating a design from scratch, our team can assist. Just reach out and let us know what you're looking for.
What's the turnaround time? We offer same-day production for orders placed before noon. Afternoon orders are typically ready the next business day. Same-day local delivery is available in Metro Vancouver.
Is there a minimum order? No. Whether you need a single transfer or hundreds, we've got you covered. Our gang sheet pricing means even small orders are affordable.
Do you ship outside Vancouver? Yes — we ship Canada-wide. Metro Vancouver customers get same-day local delivery, and orders across Canada typically arrive within 1–3 business days.
Can I order for my business or resell? Absolutely. We offer reseller-friendly pricing with no branding on packaging — your customers will never know where the transfers came from. Many print shops, apparel brands, and side hustlers use DTF Vancouver as their production partner.
How do I apply DTF transfers? Heat press at 280°F (138°C) for 10 seconds with medium pressure. Hot peel the film immediately, then press again for 5 seconds to cure. That's it — no pre-treatment needed. For detailed instructions, visit our Pressing Instructions page.
How long do DTF transfers last? When applied correctly, DTF transfers hold up for 50+ washes without cracking, peeling, or fading. They're more durable and more vibrant than screen printing or heat transfer vinyl.
Can I use a household iron instead of a heat press? We strongly recommend a heat press for consistent results. Household irons don't provide even pressure or accurate temperature control, which can lead to poor adhesion or premature peeling.
